Sometimes 'Done' is Better Than 'Perfect'

I recently interviewed Emily Perron on the Makin' Bacon Podcast and this quote of hers really resonated with me.

"You have to have this attitude of 'done is better than perfect'." - Emily Perron

As bloggers we often want everything to be done perfectly. The recipe tested 13 times, the plates moved around for photo after photo, the article proofed and proofed again and rewritten, all striving for perfection.

But while quality does matter, this is often a form of procrastination.

One you hit the needed level of quality and professionalism, it's time to let go and put your creation out into the wild. This applies both to your own work, and to your attitude in dealing with VAs and other freelancers.

When have you let the need to be "perfect" prevent you from putting content out there? How much time did it cost you to polish and re-polish it until you finally posted it? Let me know in the Makin Bacon Facebook Group or the comments below.

In my interview with Emily Perron we go into this in a lot more detail at Growing Your Team with Emily Perron
