Description of Spare Ribs
Beef ribs are always a big treat at lunch or dinner. One particular interesting rib that is enjoyed a lot by everybody is known as spare ribs. It is found in front and the underside of the cow's belly. It has more fat compared to other beef cuts; however the beef in the cut is "spare" thus its name.
These ribs are taken from the largest portion of the cow's rib cage. This is why the butcher cuts them into smaller pieces when selling them. You will typically need 3 rib bones per person.
The meat from these ribs are a little chewy but long cooking times can help. The tricks of making the perfect dish of spare ribs involve two things, right ingredients and cooking methods. These two things will result in a mouth-watering dish that you and your family members will thoroughly enjoy and savor.
For example you can season these ribs with simple ingredients like pepper and salt, and then roast it in a hot oven. The result will be a hot peppery ribs dish that will be full of flavor. It is a relatively affordable cut of beef.
Pork spare ribs are probably more popular than beef spare ribs in Chinese cuisine. However this beef cut has its own loyal fans from all over the world.
